Alarming Situation for the People of South Asia

This year Covid19 is a battle field and force changer, no army no security agencies, Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics had replaced them to fight. Currently we are in an alarming state as we Pakistan and other south Asian countries are busy in handling Pandemic disease, Economic crises, hunger and soon heatstroke is another challenge for them.

I have review today’s situation which is in control due to lockdown in country, may be not be remain in control, soon government of Pakistan, India and other countries are going to lift the lockdown.

Healthcare Professionals are very much concerned, they are already facing issues due to lack of Personal Protection Equipment’s (PPE). In Pakistan, India we don’t have centralized Air-Conditioned Hospitals, the resources are very limited, we have Major Problems in our system electricity, hygiene, hospital buildings, beds, equipment’s, scanners, medicine, proper Laboratory, supply chain, resource allocation and waste management facilities.

Heat Stroke is alarming from tomorrow climate is another challenge for the nation, in that situation how can we manage patient care and personal care, where wet surgical mask is useless, and challenge to for nurses and doctors to wear gowns and other safety equipment.

N95 Mask became precious, Doctors and Nurses have to wear surgical mask during care and close contact with covid19 Patients, many of them are affected, their families are also on risk, we cannot afford all the paramedics get affected and quarantine for 14 days. we salute every health care professional and stand with them to continue their valuable services.

We were and we are in line to handle it, our morals are high, need community support to be united, keep distance and stay safe at home.

Health Care Systems Comparison between Third World Countries and Rest of the World

This may be one of the hot topics during this pandemic covid19 now a days I have gone through many articles, blogs and videos, strong health care system has excellent clinical staff sharing their experiences to handle the patient. This disaster situation occurs first time in their life to handle so many patients at one time, on other end third world countries we can pick some of them from the huge numbers, like Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and so on, where health care systems are very limited against population of the nation, there hospitals are always over budded cannot accommodate everyone in daily routine.

US, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and China have strong health systems their system shook due to Pandemic covid-19. Usually they handled limited patients, 90% of them are insurance coverage patient and rest are government responsibilities, which they treat accordingly, they don’t have to face financial issues, because they have strong backing of government to support.

Comparative to them, we have many issues to cater, first of all the 3rd world countries already far behind from developed and rich countries, they have social, economic, law and order issues, they cannot provide coverage to ¼ of their citizens a quality care, but they have well trained staff, they handle thousands of patients in their daily routines. In my experience I have faced received daily gunshots during city crises in Karachi, Gang wars, Snatching and blind bullets are taking life of many, I was working in Private Hospital where only affording patients were coming

for quality care as followed by JCIA protocols. During my training government hospitals visit was also part of our studies, where I have seen thousands of peoples, most of them can’t afford shoes and slippers, they were barefooted, follow long queue, the casualties only open wound and fresh trauma’s other than that treat as clinic patient and have to wait for the turn.

It’s not about our country that never deliver basic health system to the citizens, reason may be anything we have 40% of the population is illiterate or proper system. Our Nurses and Doctors are well trained because they handle large number of patients on daily basis which polish their skills.

The University Hospital where have I have been trained, also recognize my clinical expertise during city crises, assassination of former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohtarma Benzair Bhutto and other crises. I am glad that I got opportunity to perform CPR Codes with Colleague Doctors in Emergency Department as a Nurse to revert patient back to life.

Covid 19 Pandemic has started its root into Pakistan, India and other backward countries, they are trying to pause its spread by strict lockdown, educational institution, and worships, still on daily basis 2-digit peoples are dying that’s a controlled figure, but numbers of suspected and victims are increase on daily basis, Nurses, Doctors and other paramedics are highly motivated to cater the situation as we believe

“We belong to Allah and to Him we will return”.

Covid 19 we are ready to defeat you as we stand against you to protect our citizens.

FACTS BEHIND HIDDEN FACTS AND FIGURES OF COVID19

Covid-19 Pandemic is showing its aggression on daily basis, more victims more casualties more death and more fear globally. Spread rate is multiply every single day, even death tolls are increased but some of the nations have to hide the actual figures of deceased persons, the purpose of this writing is to identify why that tool as a major indicator is not very correctly mentioned around the globe.

There may be many reasons for this, what I have observed are as follows.

Economic Crises:

The current war is just to strength economically and unfortunately this pandemic disease starts from china and first reach to the strong countries such as USA, UK, Spain, and European Countries, they have strong health system but this crisis has locked down them and halt for weeks, those who were having strong economic growth their systems are also shivering and it's Shrinked.

They have huge number of death tolls, to control and stable economic crises and to decrease the fear of corona from people they show a smaller number of death and increase is number of recovered people but do you think it's justified to hide the actual number? Hiding facts are never be so cool and ethically considered.

Health Care System:

Many of the Hospitals and Health care system are not trained nor built to handle sick and coronoid patients, due to fear of spread into their system and affect others, those who can accommodate sick patients they have less resources because they need isolation area to separate one from another which require huge place, temporary hospitals built, town halls and other areas convert into hospital setup, which is not enough to cater the big numbers.

Personal Protective Equipment’s PPE:

Health care workers have a biggest issue to have PPE, Mask, and Sanitizer, glasses, isolation kit and other PPE. The production is the biggest issue, each country needs them, the demand is very high against the productivity, most of the countries, flight operations are also halt to minimize the spread, this PPE issue also a fear for Doctors, Nurses, and other paramedics to work in the health system, as this deadly disease already affect healthcare workers and eaten many life’s of the healthcare heroes. We need to keep supply the PPE to our health care heroes so they can fight against this pandemic disease.

But question revolving around my mind is if there are patients with positive covid19 and isolation is not yet completed, those patients who are at high risk can get the disease from the community.  

According to facts and figure which show the danger is not yet complete, it's still in our community. If we take it seriously we will win otherwise we had to lose HOPE.
